Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Question

What does the Notch Filter do on my subwoofer?

Answer

The notch filter is designed to reduce the output of the subwoofer at a specific point on the frequency it produces. This should be the point at which the level increases on the SPL meter without any adjustment on the amp or the sub. This is the resonant point of the room and the notch filter should be adjusted to this frequency and the cut should be adjusted to the amount that the level exceeded the average- normally between 2 and 4db.
